Peppermint Bark Recipe

Holiday favorites include homemade peppermint bark! Everyone will feel jolly with this simple sweet produced with a few ingredients.


-2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips -12 ounces white chocolate chips -½ to ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract -½ cup crushed peppermint candy canes


Prepare rimmed baking sheet. Stir semisweet chips in a dish over hot water to melt. Remove from heat when nearly melted.

Spread mixture evenly on parchment paper, about ⅛ inch thick, using an offset spatula or knife. Cool and stiffen 20 minutes in fridge.

Nearly melt white chocolate bits in another basin over boiling water. Remove from water and add peppermint essence to bowl. Cool before adding chocolate to avoid melting. Spread this on chocolate quickly.

Sprinkle crushed candy canes. Chill both layers until stiff. Break bark irregularly or cut it into squares. Keep covered and cold.
